A major Spider-Man villain is finally heading to live-action, and fans will see him sooner than expected.
The villain Tombstone will appear in the upcoming Prime Video series Spider-Noir, before he shows up in Marvel’s next Spider-Man movie. The character is also set to appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland, which releases later in 2026.
The confirmation came after artist Jorge Molina shared new posters for the show. When fans asked about a mystery character dressed in purple, Molina confirmed it was Tombstone, a well-known villain from the Spider-Man comics.
Tombstone, whose real name is Lonnie Lincoln, is a powerful crime boss who has often clashed with Spider-Man. In the upcoming film Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the character will be played by Marvin Jones III.
However, the Prime Video series will introduce the villain first. The show is set in a darker 1930s version of New York and follows a different Spider-Man story. Actor Nicolas Cage will lead the series, though his version of Spider-Man will reportedly be a new take on Ben Reilly rather than Peter Parker.
There are also hints that actor Abraham Popoola could be playing Tombstone in the series, although the role has not been officially confirmed yet.
The series Spider-Noir will premiere in the United States on MGM+ on May 25, before releasing globally on Prime Video on May 27. Meanwhile, Spider-Man: Brand New Day will arrive in cinemas on July 31.
With two major projects featuring the same villain within months of each other, 2026 is shaping up to be a huge year for Tombstone and the wider Spider-Man universe.
