Google has released its September 2025 system updates for Android devices, bringing new features and fixes across Play services, the Play Store, and system components. The updates apply to Android phones, tablets, Wear OS devices, Google/Android TV, Android Auto, and PCs.
According to the release notes, Google Play services version 25.34 introduces several improvements. For phones, the update delivers bug fixes related to account management and new developer tools to support device connectivity. Similar developer features are also being extended to Wear OS.
A key change is in Safety & Emergency: theft protection now supports backup and restore, allowing users to retain security features even after restoring a device.
Google Wallet also receives an update. On both phones and Wear OS, users can now authenticate tap-to-pay transactions even if their phone has been locked for more than 30 seconds, improving reliability for contactless payments.
Meanwhile, the Google Play Store has been updated to version 47.8. On phones, snippets will now display more relevant results, aimed at improving app discovery and user experience.
Google noted that while some features appear in the changelog immediately, they may take months before becoming widely available.
