Samsung S26 Edge Render Confirms Qi2 Support and Bigger Battery

Samsung S26 Edge Render

New renders of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge have revealed an unusual design choice, with a large camera island making the phone significantly thicker than its main body.

The CAD-based images, shared online by OnLeaks, confirm the phone’s overall dimensions as 158.4 x 75.7 x 5.5mm, making it slightly thinner than the Galaxy S25 Edge.

However, the camera island adds considerable bulk, bringing the total thickness up to 10.8mm. The module spans almost the full width of the phone, raising questions about Samsung’s design direction.

The renders also show that the S26 Edge will support Qi2 wireless charging with built-in magnets. The placement of the magnets near the raised camera island may complicate accessory designs.

The display remains 6.7 inches, similar to its predecessor, with bezels expected to stay the same. A larger 4,200mAh battery is reportedly included, up from 3,900mAh on the S25 Edge, which may explain part of the design change.

Performance details suggest the U.S. model will run on Qualcomm’s upcoming Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip. Other regions may receive Samsung’s Exynos 2600. Camera upgrades include a 50MP ultra-wide sensor, though no additional third camera has been added despite the size of the rear bump.

The Galaxy S26 Edge is expected to launch in 2026 alongside the rest of Samsung’s S26 lineup.
