A new leak has revealed Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7, showcasing a major redesign with a much wider outer display. This marks a key change from previous models, which have been criticized for their narrow screen dimensions when folded.
The leaked hands-on image, shared via NotebookCheck, shows the back of the Fold 7, confirming its wider design and larger camera modules compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 6. While the Fold 6 made some improvements, it still lagged behind other foldables in terms of usability when folded. That appears to be changing this year.
New CAD files obtained by SamMobile further detail the device’s dimensions. When opened, the Z Fold 7 measures just 4.54mm thick, and 9mm when folded. Though slightly thicker than earlier leaks suggested, it’s still thinner than previous Samsung foldables and a significant step forward.
In full, the unfolded size is 158.43 x 143.14 x 4.54mm, putting it close to prior leaked specs and still competitive with devices like the Oppo Find N5.
The leak also includes details about the Galaxy Z Flip 7, which will reportedly measure 166.61 x 75.23 x 6.84mm when unfolded. However, some sources suggest that this thickness could actually match the Flip 6’s 6.94mm, hinting at a possible typo.
With these changes, Samsung appears ready to close the gap with its foldable competitors, offering a device that’s both slimmer and more practical for daily use. More official details are expected soon.
