Leaked Geekbench scores suggest that Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra could feature an overclocked version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, tailored specifically for Galaxy devices.
While the scores themselves are lower than those seen in other Snapdragon 8 Elite devices, the system information report reveals that two of the chip’s eight CPU cores are clocked at 4.47 GHz, higher than the default 4.32 GHz speed.
This overclocked version, likely branded as “Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy,” could be a part of Samsung’s strategy to deliver enhanced performance for its flagship devices.
Although the current benchmark results show a performance dip, it’s expected that the final Galaxy S25 Ultra will see improved scores due to pre-release hardware and software.
If this overclocked version becomes the norm, the Galaxy S25 series is set to offer a significant boost in performance compared to the previous Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which powers many current flagship devices.
With the Galaxy S25 series expected to debut this month, this leak could be an early indicator of what’s to come for Samsung’s next-generation smartphones.
