Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 FE smartphone will feature significantly improved charging speeds, while the company’s new budget tablet will stick with slower charging capabilities, according to new certification documents.
The Galaxy S25 FE has received TÜV Rheinland certification confirming support for 45W wired charging, nearly double the 25W capability of its predecessor. The upgrade represents a substantial improvement for Samsung’s more affordable flagship phone line.
However, the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite tablet, which also received certification, will be limited to 25W charging despite other models in the Tab S10 family supporting the faster 45W standard.
Samsung appears to have restricted the Tab S10 Lite’s charging speed as a cost-cutting measure to maintain a lower price point. The company has not yet announced official pricing for the tablet, though it is expected to be the cheapest model in the Tab S10 range.
The charging limitation follows Samsung’s recent practice of removing chargers from device boxes, meaning users will need to purchase compatible charging adapters separately to achieve the maximum charging speeds.
Both devices are expected to launch together around October, according to industry reports. Samsung has not officially announced either product or confirmed release dates.
The Galaxy S25 FE is part of Samsung’s “Fan Edition” line, which typically offers flagship features at reduced prices. The improved charging speed brings the device closer to the capabilities of Samsung’s premium Galaxy S series phones.
For the Tab S10 Lite, the 25W charging restriction represents one of several expected compromises designed to achieve a lower price point compared to standard Tab S10 models. Other potential limitations could include reduced processing power, display quality, or build materials.
The certification documents provide the first official confirmation of the S25 FE’s enhanced charging capabilities, which had previously been the subject of industry rumors and speculation.
