Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy A56, bringing notable upgrades to its mid-range lineup.

The phone features a refreshed design, a powerful Exynos 1580 chipset, and Super Fast Charge 2.0 with 45W wired charging.

This makes the A56 the first Galaxy A-series device to adopt this charging speed, which was previously exclusive to flagship models.

Design and Display

The Galaxy A56 comes with a slimmer 7.4mm profile and Gorilla Glass Victus+ protection on both the front and back. The camera module is now a unified island instead of individual protruding lenses, giving the phone a cleaner look.

The device sports a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution. It reaches up to 1,900 nits peak brightness, making it the brightest screen ever on a Galaxy A device. The bezels are thinner on all sides, enhancing the immersive viewing experience.

Performance and Software

Under the hood, the Galaxy A56 is powered by the Exynos 1580 chipset, delivering 37% better performance compared to its predecessor. It is paired with 8GB of RAM and comes in 128GB and 256GB storage options, with microSD card support for further expansion.

The phone runs on Android 15 with One UI 7.0, offering Circle to Search and AI-driven image editing features. Samsung promises six years of OS updates and security patches, setting a new standard for software support in the mid-range segment.

Camera and AI Features

While the camera hardware remains the same with a 50MP main sensor, 12MP ultra-wide lens, and 5MP macro camera, Samsung has improved the software with AI algorithms. The Galaxy A56 now supports context-aware image enhancement, low-noise night mode, and faster zoom switching between cameras.

The 12MP front camera also benefits from AI processing, delivering better selfies and 4K HDR video recording.

Battery and Charging

The Galaxy A56 packs a 5,000mAh battery with 45W Super Fast Charge 2.0 support. Samsung claims the battery can reach 65% in just 30 minutes and fully charge in 68 minutes.

Pricing and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy A56 will be available in Graphite Gray, Light Gray, Olive, and Pink colors. The 128GB model is priced at €479/$499, while the 256GB variant costs €529/£499.

With its upgraded performance, AI features, and long-term software support, the Galaxy A56 is set to be a strong contender in the mid-range smartphone market in 2025.
