Rockstar Games has announced that Red Dead Redemption will launch on iOS, Android, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2 on 2 December 2025. The game will also be added to the PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue on the same day.

The release marks the first time the acclaimed Western title is coming to mobile devices. Netflix subscribers will be able to download and play the game through Netflix Games at no extra cost.

The new versions include the Undead Nightmare expansion and bonus material from the Game of the Year Edition. Players who own earlier releases on PS4, Nintendo Switch, or Xbox One will be able to upgrade to the latest versions for free. Save data from PS4 and the first Switch will carry over to PS5 and Switch 2.

On modern consoles, Red Dead Redemption will run at 60 frames per second. The PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions will include HDR support, improved image quality, and resolutions up to 4K. The Switch 2 edition will support HDR, DLSS, and optional mouse-style controls using Joy-Con 2.

Netflix Games continues to expand its catalogue of major titles. The service previously added Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition and Hades for mobile users.

Red Dead Redemption was first released in 2010 on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The story follows John Marston, a former outlaw forced to track down his old gang. The game won several major awards and is widely regarded as one of the greatest video games of all time.
