Roblox has set a new player record, reaching 47 million users online at the same time during a weekend event on August 23.
The surge came as the platform’s two most popular games, Grow a Garden and Steal a Brainrot, staged an “admin war” between their creators to see which could attract more players. The stunt drew millions of participants and pushed Roblox to its highest-ever peak.
Data from Fortnite.gg shows that Grow a Garden reached 22 million players at its peak, while Steal a Brainrot drew 15 million.

Grow a Garden lets players collect and grow plants, including rare limited-time varieties that drive massive traffic spikes. Steal a Brainrot, by contrast, focuses on capturing and stealing Pokémon-style creatures from rivals.
Roblox’s record outpaced other major gaming platforms. On the same day, Steam recorded 37.9 million online accounts, with 11.2 million actively playing, while Fortnite saw 1.6 million peak players.
The milestone continues a summer of strong growth for Roblox, which has regularly hit 30 million weekend peaks. It also comes as the company faces pressure to improve safety for its young audience.
Last month, Roblox introduced new age-estimation technology and features to let teens chat with trusted friends without filters.
