Ripple has pledged $100,000 in XRP to help communities affected by the devastating California wildfires.

The donation will support the work of nonprofit organizations World Central Kitchen and GiveDirectly, which are providing both immediate relief and long-term rebuilding assistance.

The donation is being made through the crypto philanthropy platform The Giving Block and will be matched by entrepreneur Jared Isaacman, effectively doubling the impact of Ripple’s contribution.

California has been struggling with severe wildfires, particularly in Southern California, where fires have been spreading rapidly since January 7.

The fires, fueled by high winds, low humidity, and drought conditions, have displaced thousands of residents and caused widespread damage to property.

World Central Kitchen is providing meals to those in need, while GiveDirectly is offering direct cash assistance to affected communities.

Ripple’s donation is part of a broader effort to support disaster relief through cryptocurrency, demonstrating the growing role of blockchain in charitable giving.
