The Redmi Turbo 5 series is expected to launch soon in China, and a new leak has revealed details about the chipsets powering the upcoming phones. The lineup is likely to include the Redmi Turbo 5 and the Turbo 5 Pro.

According to a Weibo tipster, the Redmi Turbo 5 will use the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 processor. The more powerful Turbo 5 Pro is expected to feature the Dimensity 9500e chipset. Both chips have not yet been officially announced and are expected to debut soon.

The Dimensity 8500 is said to be built on TSMC’s 4nm process and could reach clock speeds of up to 3.4GHz. The Dimensity 9500e is expected to use a more advanced 3nm process, offering higher performance with clock speeds around 3.73GHz and an improved GPU.

Both phones are expected to feature 1.5K LTPS OLED displays and a metal frame. Reports also suggest ultrasonic fingerprint scanners, which would be an upgrade over previous models.

Battery size is another major highlight. The Turbo 5 Pro is rumored to pack a massive 9,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging. The standard Turbo 5 could feature an 8,000mAh battery with the same charging speed. Both models have reportedly received China’s 3C certification, suggesting a launch is close.

Redmi is expected to launch the Turbo 5 series in China in January or early February. For global markets, the devices are likely to be rebranded under Xiaomi’s Poco lineup.
