Quentin Griffiths, co-founder of online retailer ASOS, has died after falling from a 17th-floor balcony in Thailand.

Griffiths, 58, originally from London, co-founded ASOS in 2000. He stepped down as marketing director in 2004 and later moved to Thailand in 2007.

The businessman’s body was found in his condominium in Pattaya. Police said there were no signs of a struggle, but they are yet to rule out foul play. A post-mortem examination will determine the exact cause of death.

Griffiths’ death comes amid a legal dispute with his Thai ex-wife, who accused him of stealing £500,000 from a joint business. He denied the claims and was released after police questioning, though the investigation was still ongoing.

Despite leaving ASOS early, Griffiths made millions. He earned around £15 million from share sales in 2010 and another large payout three years later. He later sued his accountants, claiming poor advice cost him more than £4 million in tax.

Griffiths was married twice and had three children. He married a Thai woman after divorcing his first wife and had two children with her.

The UK Foreign Office confirmed it is supporting Griffiths’ family and is in contact with Thai authorities. Investigations into his death are ongoing.
