Qatar strongly condemned Iran’s missile attack on a U.S. air base and warned it may strike back.
Iran fired missiles at the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar on June 23, 2025. The base hosts American military forces and equipment.
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry called the attack a “clear violation of Qatar’s sovereignty, its airspace, and international law.” Spokesman Majed Al-Ansari said Qatar “reserves the right to respond directly in a manner proportional to this blatant aggression.”
Qatar’s air defense systems successfully shot down the incoming missiles. No one was killed or injured in the attack.
The missile strike caused explosions and bright flares over Doha, Qatar’s capital city. Qatar temporarily closed its airspace to protect residents and air traffic.
The U.S. embassy in Qatar told American citizens to shelter in place as a safety measure.
This attack is part of growing tensions between Iran, the United States, and Israel. Qatar has been working with regional and international partners to manage the security crisis.
Qatar’s strong response shows the country will not tolerate attacks on its territory. The government’s warning suggests it may take military action if Iran continues such strikes.
The Al Udeid Air Base is one of the largest U.S. military facilities in the Middle East. It plays a key role in American operations across the region.
Qatar’s threat to respond marks a significant escalation in the conflict. The small Gulf nation rarely takes such a firm military stance.
The situation remains tense as countries in the region decide their next moves. More diplomatic and military responses are expected in the coming days.
