Apple TV+ has announced the premiere date for Pluribus, a new science fiction drama from acclaimed creator Vince Gilligan, best known for Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.
The nine-episode first season will debut with two episodes on November 7, 2025, and conclude on December 26. The show has already been renewed for a second season.
Pluribus marks Gilligan’s return to television with an entirely new concept — his first major project outside the Breaking Bad universe in nearly two decades. The series stars Rhea Seehorn, reuniting with Gilligan after her Emmy-nominated role as Kim Wexler in Better Call Saul.
In Pluribus, Seehorn plays Carol, described as “the most miserable person on Earth,” who is tasked with saving the world from — unexpectedly — happiness.
Details about the plot remain limited, but a short teaser released by Apple hints at the show’s surreal and possibly satirical tone. In the 30-second clip, a woman in pink scrubs licks donuts before placing them back in a box marked “Help yourself,” complete with a smiley face.
Supporting cast members include Karolina Wydra, Carlos-Manuel Vesga, and guest stars Miriam Shor and Samba Schutte.
Speaking to Variety in 2023, Gilligan described Pluribus as a significant shift in direction: “There’s no crime, and no methamphetamine. The world changes very abruptly in the first episode, and then it is quite different.”
The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television. Executive producers include Gilligan, Gordon Smith, Alison Tatlock, Diane Mercer, Allyce Ozarski, and Jeff Frost. Jenn Carroll and Trina Siopy serve as co-executive producers.
