Just days ahead of launch, PlayStation has pulled upcoming action-adventure title MindsEye from its Japanese store and begun issuing automatic refunds—without any explanation.
MindsEye, developed by Build a Rocket Boy and led by former GTA producer Leslie Benzies, was set to release on 10 June 2025 across PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. But reports now confirm that the game is no longer available for preorder in Japan, and affected players have received full refunds via email.
Strangely, no reason was given in Sony’s communication. A ResetEra user noted, “I’ve received the full email with headers of a refund… no stated reason.”
While Sony remains silent, speculation points to certification issues—possibly a false or missing submission to Sony Interactive Entertainment. But nothing has been confirmed.
The timing is awkward for Build a Rocket Boy. The studio has reportedly faced leadership changes, and now this sudden delisting raises concerns over MindsEye’s smooth release.
Billed as a narrative-driven action-adventure thriller set in a near-future desert city, MindsEye combines explosive combat, high-octane driving, and cinematic storytelling. It has drawn comparisons to GTA due to its ambitious scope and team pedigree.
The game is still expected to launch globally—except in Japan, where the situation remains unclear.
For now, the silence from both Sony and the developers leaves fans puzzled, just days away from what was meant to be a major debut.
