Playboi Carti Faces Fan Backlash Over Years of Album Teases

Playboi Carti — Sao Paulo, Brazil

Playboi Carti fans have reached their breaking point after waiting over four years for the rapper’s next album.

To vent their frustration, they’ve created a website documenting every unfulfilled promise Carti has made about new music since the release of Whole Lotta Red in 2020.

A History of Unmet Promises

The website meticulously tracks every instance where Carti teased new music but failed to deliver.

This includes the scrapped Whole Lotta Red deluxe edition, the never-released single “Narcissist,” and multiple claims from Carti and his team that the album was “done.”

Fans have been eagerly awaiting the rapper’s next project, titled Music, which was first teased in 2021.

Despite Carti describing its creation process—ranging from recording in a cave to working in a glass house—no official release date has been announced.

Fans Plan Mass Unfollow Campaign

The frustration has led to a coordinated fan effort to hold Carti accountable. Social media users are planning a mass unfollow campaign starting December 27 if the album isn’t released by year’s end.

Posts calling for action have gone viral, with fans threatening to unfollow Carti on all platforms and cancel pre-orders for his merchandise.

Will Carti Respond?

Although Carti has dropped a few singles in the past year, the lack of a concrete album release has left fans disillusioned.

Whether this campaign will push the rapper to finally release Music remains uncertain.

For now, fans continue to wait, their patience wearing thin as the four-year anniversary of Whole Lotta Red passes without a new album in sight.
