American rapper Playboi Carti has been charged with a misdemeanor after allegedly hitting a limousine driver and his girlfriend during his Antagonist 2.0 Tour earlier this month, according to a police report obtained by TMZ.
Authorities in Wasatch County, Utah, confirmed that the incident took place in early October 2025. Despite the charge, Carti, whose real name is Jordan Terrell Carter, has continued performing on tour.
Incident Details
Witnesses told local police that they saw an altercation between two men before the limousine driver, later identified as Carl Reynolds, contacted authorities. Reynolds alleged that while driving Carti and a woman believed to be his girlfriend, the rapper began arguing with her.
Reynolds said he pulled the car over to intervene, but Carti threatened to hit both him and the woman. According to the driver’s statement, Carti allegedly struck the woman in the chest, and she was seen clutching the area in pain. When Reynolds asked Carti’s security team to move him to another vehicle, the rapper allegedly punched him in the face, leaving his jaw bruised and swollen.
The incident reportedly occurred on October 2, and the rapper was officially charged on October 9. Police have not released details about the woman involved, and no further charges have been filed regarding the alleged assault on her.
Who Is Playboi Carti’s Girlfriend?
Carti has been linked to model and blogger Giovanna Ramos, known online as Gio, since early 2025. Their rumored relationship gained attention after the rapper posted a photo with her during the Met Gala in May, which fans took as confirmation they were together.
Singer Summer Walker later referred to Gio as Carti’s “wife” on social media, further fueling speculation. However, neither Carti nor Ramos has publicly confirmed their relationship, and there is no evidence linking Ramos to the Utah incident.
Ongoing Case
Playboi Carti has not issued a public statement regarding the charges. Authorities are continuing their investigation. The identity of the woman involved remains unconfirmed, and no updates have been provided on her condition.
