Jay-Z has strongly denied a Philadelphia man’s claim that he is the rapper’s secret son, describing the allegations as false and part of a long-running campaign of harassment.
In new court documents, Jay-Z, whose real name is Shawn Carter, asked a federal judge to dismiss the lawsuit brought by 32-year-old Rymir Satterthwaite. The rapper’s legal team stated that similar claims have already been rejected by multiple courts and said the latest lawsuit should not move forward.
“The fabricated allegations and claims have been addressed – and rejected – in multiple other courts,” the documents read. “Continued harassment and disregard of those orders has already resulted in a contempt order.”
Ongoing Dispute
Satterthwaite claims he is the son of Jay-Z, alleging that his late mother, Wanda, had a relationship with the rapper in the 1990s. After her death, Satterthwaite was raised by his godmother, who has supported his efforts to confirm Jay-Z’s paternity.
He says he is not seeking money or publicity, but simply the truth. He has repeatedly requested a paternity test, claiming that Jay-Z has never responded directly.
Jay-Z’s Legal Stand
Jay-Z’s attorneys argue that the claims are part of a “decades-long harassment campaign.” They also say that Satterthwaite and his godmother have ignored previous court rulings, which led to a contempt order.
Jay-Z’s legal team said he only became aware of the latest lawsuit in June and has asked for more time to prepare a full response.
What’s Next?
The case remains in federal court as Jay-Z pushes for dismissal. Meanwhile, Satterthwaite continues to insist that he is seeking the truth about his parentage. No trial date has been set.
