Dave, the 24-year-old accountant who lost his virginity on the Channel 4 show Virgin Island, has since found love. He revealed what his new girlfriend thinks about his time on the show.
Virgin Island follows 12 people aged 22 to 30 who have never had sex. Dave was the only participant to lose his virginity during the show, sleeping with sex surrogate Kat in the final episode. Many viewers praised him for how he handled the experience.
Since the show ended, Dave met his girlfriend on the dating app Hinge about six months later. She watched the first few episodes but stopped after four because it was “getting a bit much.” Dave explained, “You don’t want to see your partner with someone else, even if it was a year ago.”
There was a viewing party for the final episodes, but Dave said his girlfriend did not attend for obvious reasons. She did say watching the show was like seeing “a completely different person” compared to who Dave is now.
Dave told his girlfriend about the show after five dates but didn’t share all the details at once.
Among the other participants, Holly also lost her virginity after the show and got a boyfriend, though that relationship ended. She said being on Virgin Island helped her become a “new, improved version” of herself. She excitedly shared her news with the group chat after losing her virginity.
Other cast members like Emma, Viraj, and Louise have been dating but haven’t formed lasting relationships yet. Louise recently moved to New Zealand, adding some distance to her connection with Jason.
Virgin Island has finished airing, but viewers can still catch up on Channel 4.
