ChatGPT - OpenAI

OpenAI has partnered with Future, the company behind popular brands like Tom’s Guide, PC Gamer, TechRadar, and Marie Claire.

This deal allows ChatGPT users to access content from over 200 media brands while including attribution and links to original articles.

This partnership is part of OpenAI’s strategy to secure content licensing agreements. Other recent deals include partnerships with News Corp (The Wall Street Journal), Dotdash Meredith (People), Axel Springer (Politico), the Financial Times, and The Atlantic.

However, some publishers, such as The New York Times and The Intercept, have sued OpenAI over copyright concerns.

Future already uses OpenAI’s technology in AI chatbots for websites like Tom’s Hardware and Who What Wear. The company plans to expand its use of AI for sales, marketing, and editorial operations.

“This partnership enables us to enhance the ChatGPT experience with reliable and engaging information from specialist sources,” said OpenAI COO Brad Lightcap.

He added that the goal is to help publishers and creators benefit from AI technology while increasing their reach.
