OpenAI CEO Sam Altman Admits He’s Scared to Use AI Himself

Sam Altman - OpenAI CEO

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has expressed concern about the growing use of artificial intelligence, especially when it comes to privacy and the future of work.

In a recent podcast with comedian Theo Von, Altman said he feels uneasy about sharing personal details with AI tools. He fears this data could be misused or fall into the wrong hands.

Altman also spoke about the intense competition in the AI industry. He described it as a global race where slowing down could mean losing control. If OpenAI hesitates, he said, other companies might move faster without considering the social impact.

He warned that rapid AI development could harm people if not handled carefully.

Altman also talked about how AI may change jobs. He admitted that some roles might disappear, causing short-term problems. But he believes AI will also create new, meaningful jobs. People, he said, will adapt and continue to play a key role in society.

“AI gives us instant access to knowledge,” Altman said. “It allows us to rethink how we contribute to the world.”

Still, he acknowledged that this shift could be hard for many, especially those whose jobs are affected.

His comments reflect the growing global debate over how to balance AI progress with responsibility and human well-being.
