One of The Biggest Horror Anime Just Released Its First Live-Action Trailer

The live-action anime world is about to get scarier this summer. The popular horror-comedy anime Mieruko-Chan is being adapted into a live-action movie, and its first trailer just dropped. Fans are already buzzing about how the spooky story of Miko Yotsuya will translate to the big screen.

Mieruko-Chan is based on the 2018 manga created by Tomoki Izumi and published by Kadokawa. The story follows Miko, a high school girl who can see terrifying ghosts and spirits around her. The live-action Mieruko-Chan movie is set to release in Japan on June 6, 2025. Nanoka Hara will play Miko, with Rinka Kumada as Hana, Naenao as Yuria, and Koki Yamashita as Akio. Interestingly, the film’s narrator is Sora Amamiya, the voice actor who brought Miko to life in the anime.

Although there’s no official announcement yet for a North American release, live-action anime films often find their way to international audiences through streaming services or limited screenings.
