NVIDIA is preparing to launch its next-generation GeForce RTX 5090 Laptop GPU, which may be the first to feature 24GB of GDDR7 memory.
This rumor, shared by reliable leaker Golden Pig Upgrade, suggests that the new GPU will use 3GB GDDR7 memory modules, providing a significant bandwidth boost compared to the current GDDR6 memory in laptops.
The RTX 5090 Laptop GPU will likely use NVIDIA’s GB203 GPU, which is expected to have 10,752 CUDA cores. It may also come with a total graphics power (TGP) of up to 175W.
The addition of 3GB GDDR7 modules will allow for more memory options, including a 24GB configuration, which is becoming increasingly popular in desktop and laptop memory.
The RTX 5090 Laptop GPU is expected to launch in February 2025, with other models like the RTX 5080 and RTX 5070 series coming later.
The 5090 will be the only model to feature 3GB GDDR7 memory initially, with the 5080 likely using standard 2GB GDDR7 modules.
