The first leak of 2025 reveals pictures of the Nintendo Switch 2’s motherboard, shared on Reddit.
The images show key components of the upcoming console, including memory from SK Hynix (LPDDR5 48Gbit) and NVIDIA’s logo, confirming the use of NVIDIA hardware.
The Switch 2 will reportedly be powered by the Tegra 239 System-on-Chip (SoC), which is based on NVIDIA’s Orin SoC family.

The CPU will feature eight cores with 12 ARM Cortex-A78AE cores, while the GPU, based on NVIDIA’s Ampere architecture, will include 2048 CUDA cores.
The hardware is expected to support Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) Super Resolution and Ray Reconstruction, confirming hardware ray tracing support.
However, experts suggest that the Nintendo Switch 2 will be weaker than the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X, with a rumored 4K resolution at 30 frames per second when docked.
Despite this, Nintendo’s focus will remain on combining handheld and home console gaming, a feature that contributed to the success of the original Switch.
Leaks suggest that a Nintendo reveal could happen as soon as January 8, 2025, with accessories potentially launching on March 28, 2025.
