Nintendo has broken its silence regarding recent leaks and mockups of the highly anticipated Switch 2, clarifying that none of the circulating images or renders are official.
This comes after accessory maker Genki showcased a mockup of the next-gen console at CES 2025, which it initially claimed was based on real hardware.
Genki’s Switch 2 mockup, presented at CES, sparked widespread speculation. The company initially insisted the design was informed by actual hardware but has since admitted it relied on leaked industry information. Genki further clarified it has not seen Nintendo’s next-gen console.
While Nintendo has yet to reveal the Switch 2 officially, a few details are confirmed:
Unverified leaks suggest the Switch 2 could feature a larger screen, magnetic Joy-Con, and upgraded internals with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. A patent for AI image upscaling hints at potential 4K capabilities.
For now, fans must wait for Nintendo’s official announcement, expected within months, to confirm or debunk the growing speculation.
