Nike Brings Back the Air Griffey Max 1 in Beloved “Varsity Royal”

Nike is bringing back the Air Griffey Max 1 “Varsity Royal” in Spring 2026.

This classic sneaker, originally worn by baseball legend Ken Griffey Jr., returns in his signature Seattle Mariners-inspired colors.

The shoe features a varsity blue nubuck upper with white leather details.

It also includes the number “24” on the ankle strap, a tribute to Griffey Jr.’s jersey number.

The design is completed with a black Swoosh, tongue branding, visible Air cushioning, and a waffle-traction outsole.

The Nike Air Griffey Max 1 “Varsity Royal” will retail for $170 USD and will be available through Nike and select retailers next year.
