Valve has released a new Steam client update that brings long-requested features to the platform, making it easier to navigate and more accessible for all users.

The update introduces UI scale controls, high contrast mode, reduced motion settings, and accessibility annotations across many interface components. These changes allow users to adjust text size, visuals, and navigation options to better suit their needs.

Additionally, Valve added a customization tab in game properties, letting users assign custom artwork and sort titles for their library, improving organization and personalisation. Other tweaks address visual and text-related issues across the platform.

The update has been met with positive reactions from users. Many praised the improved legibility and ease of use, with comments such as, “Holy Jesus, the UI scale is a mega W,” and “Thank you, Lord Gaben,” appearing across forums and social media.

Since its launch in 2003, Steam has grown from a game updater into a full digital storefront, and this update represents one of Valve’s most significant improvements to accessibility and user experience in years.
