Sony has updated its Creators’ Cloud platform, allowing images from select Sony cameras to be automatically uploaded to Google Drive and Adobe Lightroom.
This new feature provides more options for backup, sharing, and editing photos directly from the cloud.
When a photo is taken, it is first uploaded to Sony’s Creators’ Cloud storage. From there, users can have the image sent to Google Drive for backup and sharing or to Adobe Lightroom for immediate processing by remote editors.
The feature works with recent Sony camera models, such as the FX3, FX30, A1, ZV-E10 II, and A9 III, that support Wi-Fi uploads or Sony’s Creators’ App on Android, iOS, and iPadOS devices.
All users of Sony’s Creators’ Cloud get 5GB of free storage, or 25GB if using it with a Sony camera.
There are also two premium plans: 100GB for $4.99 per month ($59.88 annually) and 500GB for $9.99 per month ($119.88 annually).
Sony has also added a differential transfer feature to the Creators’ App. This allows only new or untransferred images to be uploaded, saving time and storage space.
Furthermore, advanced control options let users adjust camera settings from a connected mobile device.
