OnePlus has launched the OnePlus 15, a new flagship phone with a larger battery and a more durable design, but early reviewers say the camera is a step down from the previous model. The device was announced on November 13 and starts at $899.

The phone uses Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, which improves AI tasks, gaming, and multitasking. It comes with up to 24GB of RAM and as much as 1TB of storage. OnePlus says the chip and the phone’s cooling system help maintain strong performance during long gaming or editing sessions.

The most notable upgrade is the 7,300mAh battery, which is much larger than many competing phones. OnePlus claims it can last up to two days with moderate use. The phone also supports 120W fast charging, which can fully charge the battery in under 25 minutes.

The OnePlus 15 also introduces a new ceramic-grade nano-coating on the Infinity Black model to reduce scratches. It has an IP69K rating, meaning it can withstand high-pressure water and resist dust. The 6.78-inch LTPO AMOLED display includes a 165Hz refresh rate and reaches up to 4,500 nits of brightness for better outdoor visibility.

However, the camera system has received mixed reactions. The phone features a triple 50-megapixel setup, but reviewers say image quality is weaker than the OnePlus 13. Tech reviewer Marques Brownlee said the camera loses fine detail and shows less accurate colors. DXOMARK testing places the camera in the middle of the 2025 flagship lineup.

OnePlus says the changes are part of cost adjustments and that future software updates will improve image stabilization and processing.

The OnePlus 15 is now available in major markets including the US, Europe, and Asia. Pre-orders have already passed 500,000 units worldwide.
