New Leak Reveals RAM Boost for iPhone 17 Lineup

A new leak has revealed that Apple’s upcoming iPhone 17 lineup will see a notable increase in RAM for most models compared to the iPhone 16 series.

According to Chinese social media account Fixed Focus Digital, which has over two million followers on Weibo, three out of four iPhone 17 models will come with 12GB of RAM.

This includes the all-new iPhone 17 Air, along with the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The standard iPhone 17 will reportedly remain at 8GB, the same as the iPhone 16 lineup.

The reported RAM specifications for the iPhone 17 series are:

  • iPhone 17: 8GB
  • iPhone 17 Air: 12GB
  • iPhone 17 Pro: 12GB
  • iPhone 17 Pro Max: 12GB

All four iPhone 16 models—iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, and 16 Pro Max—currently include 8GB of RAM.

Fixed Focus Digital was previously the first to report the name of the iPhone 16e before its official announcement, lending some credibility to this latest claim. However, the account does not yet have a long history of accurate leaks.

The information also aligns with an earlier report from respected Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who said in April that the iPhone 17 Air, Pro, and Pro Max would each come with 12GB of RAM.

At the time, Kuo was uncertain whether the base model iPhone 17 would receive the same upgrade due to potential supply constraints. He has not issued an update on the matter since.

If accurate, the increased RAM could support more advanced features, improve multitasking, and enhance overall performance in Apple’s next-generation iPhones.
