Netflix has set the record straight about Leonardo DiCaprio’s involvement in Squid Game season 3.
Rumours had been circulating that the actor would make a surprise appearance in the hit series, but Netflix has officially denied the claims.
A spokesperson for the platform stated that the reports were “completely false” and there is no truth to the speculation.
The rumours began after a report from OSEN suggested that DiCaprio had completed filming for a minor role in Squid Game 3, which was kept under wraps to avoid spoilers. However, Netflix quickly put those rumours to rest.
In other exciting news, Netflix has confirmed that Squid Game 3 will premiere in 2025. The announcement comes after the success of season 2, which achieved 68 million views in its first week, setting a record for the platform.
A teaser poster for the upcoming season was also released, featuring Young Hee from the iconic Red Light, Green Light game and a new robot character, Cheol Su, who made an appearance in the season 2 finale.
Squid Game, created by Hwang Dong-hyuk, became a global sensation after its release in 2021.
