Md Shariar Shanaz Shuvon, a 17-year-old ethical hacker from Bangladesh, discovered a serious security flaw in NASA’s systems. NASA thanked him with an official letter.
Shuvon grew up in Jhenaigati, Sherpur, and finished his SSC from Jhinaigati Govt Model Pilot High School. He now studies Information Technology in Malaysia at the University of Cyberjaya. He also works as an Information Security Analyst at a cybersecurity company called ERTH (Blue Bee Technologies).
Shuvon started learning programming in Class 7 and focused on cybersecurity by Class 8. After testing many known bugs, he used two techniques, IDOR and SSRF, to find the flaw in NASA’s system. This flaw gave access to Earth data with personal information, which could have been misused.
He reported the problem legally through NASA’s Vulnerability Disclosure Policy. NASA fixed the flaw and praised his ethical work.
Shuvon also found security bugs at Sony and Meta. He is ranked number one worldwide on TryHackMe, a popular cybersecurity training site.
He uses tools like Burp Suite and Google Dorks but says success comes from a hacker’s mindset — thinking clearly and noticing small details others miss.
Shuvon wants to raise cybersecurity awareness in Bangladesh, where many companies ignore digital threats. He hopes to help build better bug reporting systems in his country.
His future goals are to keep learning, help others, and maybe create cybersecurity tools or a company. Bug hunting is just the start for him.
