Michael Jackson’s The Essential Michael Jackson compilation has achieved a remarkable milestone, spending 500 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart.

This feat places Jackson in an exclusive group of artists whose albums have maintained such longevity on one of the most prestigious music charts in the U.S.

This week, the album drops from No. 106 to No. 128, with 10,900 equivalent units sold, including over 600 actual sales.

While it’s rare for albums to reach such a milestone, Jackson has now had two albums hit the 500-week mark, with Thriller being the first. Thriller continues its impressive run, having spent 653 weeks on the Billboard 200 and remaining one of the best-selling albums of all time.

Jackson’s catalog, especially around Halloween, sees a surge in popularity, but as the year progresses, consumption of his work typically slows down.

Despite this, The Essential Michael Jackson continues to hold its place, a testament to the timeless appeal of his music.
