Meta Platforms has delayed the launch of its major AI model called Behemoth, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal.
The delay comes as Meta’s engineers face challenges improving the model’s capabilities enough to justify releasing it to the public.
Originally, Meta planned to release Behemoth in April during its first AI conference for developers. The target was later moved to June, but now the launch is expected in the fall or even later.
Meta introduced the model as part of its Llama AI series, calling Behemoth one of the smartest large language models (LLMs) designed to help train newer AI systems.
Earlier this year, Meta released the latest versions, Llama 4 Scout and Llama 4 Maverick.
Meta has not commented on the delay. The company continues to work on improving Behemoth before making it available.
