Mercedes-Benz brought a special display of motorsport history to FuoriConcorso 2025 at Lake Como.
The brand showcased two rare CLK GTR cars — the 1997 race car and its ultra-rare road-going version — in the gardens of Villa del Grumello.
Both vehicles were carefully craned into the venue, alongside a 1990 C 11 Group C race car, making the event a unique reunion of Mercedes-Benz racing legends.
The 1997 CLK GTR race car won the FIA GT Championship that year, while only 20 road-legal coupés were ever made. One of those road cars, part of The Loh Collection, was on display.
The cars have strong Italian connections: the C 11 raced to a one-two finish at Monza in 1990, and the CLK GTR finished second at Mugello in 1997. Both cars won championship titles during their racing seasons.
Mercedes-Benz’s CEO of Heritage, Marcus Breitschwerdt, also participated in panel talks about the brand’s racing legacy at nearby Villa Sucota, emphasizing Mercedes’ deep roots in motorsport and cultural influence.
