Meghan Markle has returned to Instagram, nearly five years after her last post with Prince Harry.
On January 1, 2025, the Duchess of Sussex launched a new account under the username @meghan, marking a fresh chapter on social media.
Her debut post, filmed by Prince Harry near their Montecito home, shows her running on a beach and writing “2025” in the sand.
This return follows the closure of the Sussexes’ joint account, @sussexroyal, in March 2020, during the COVID-19 crisis.
Meghan had previously deactivated her personal account in January 2018 after her engagement to Harry. The couple has since moved to the U.S. with their children, Archie and Lilibet.
In 2024, Meghan also launched an Instagram page for her lifestyle brand, American Riviera Orchard.
Despite her return to social media, she has expressed concerns about raising her children in a digital world, prioritizing safety and turning pain into purpose.
