Marvel Comics has revealed a brand-new lineup for the Guardians of the Galaxy in its upcoming Imperial Guardians storyline. The new team brings together several powerful heroes to protect the galaxy during a growing cosmic crisis.
The group forms after the collapse of the Kree-Skrull Alliance and rising conflict across the Marvel universe. The team was secretly assembled by Maximus the Mad as a special operations unit working during the events of the Imperial storyline.
This new version of the Guardians includes Captain Marvel, Gamora, Cosmic Ghost Rider, Brawn, and Darkhawk. Each member brings unique powers and experience to the team.
Captain Marvel acts as the team’s tactical anchor. As a human-Kree hybrid, she can absorb and release massive amounts of energy and fly through space at high speeds. Gamora, often called the deadliest woman in the galaxy, leads the team with her combat skills and superhuman abilities.
Cosmic Ghost Rider is one of the most powerful members. The character combines the Spirit of Vengeance with cosmic powers granted by Galactus, allowing him to use Hellfire and cosmic energy in battle.
Amadeus Cho joins the team as Brawn, using gamma-powered strength and his genius-level intellect to support the group. Darkhawk also plays a key role, using a powerful alien suit that gives him flight, energy shields, and advanced weapons.
Meanwhile, classic Guardians members like Star-Lord, Rocket Raccoon, and Drax the Destroyer are currently following their own paths across the Marvel universe. The new team will officially debut in Imperial Guardians #1, released by Marvel in 2026.
