Linkin Park gave a powerful musical performance before the UEFA Champions League final at the Allianz Arena in Munich on Saturday.
The band played four songs ahead of the match between Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Inter Milan.
The tracklist for their show was:
1. The Emptiness Machine
2. In the End
3. Numb
4. Heavy Is The Crown (with Up From The Bottom and Numb UEFA remix intro)
This was a pre-game performance, not a halftime show. Unlike the Super Bowl, the Champions League final usually does not have a halftime musical event. However, FIFA recently announced plans to add halftime shows for future Men’s World Cup finals.
On the field, PSG crushed Inter Milan 5-0, winning their first-ever Champions League title. The victory led to large celebrations across France, especially in Paris.
Unfortunately, the celebrations turned violent. French police arrested 559 people nationwide, including 491 in Paris. Two people died during the chaos.
One man was killed in a scooter accident in Paris, and a 17-year-old boy was fatally stabbed in the town of Dax. Authorities are still investigating the stabbing’s connection to the celebrations.
Despite the unrest, PSG’s historic win remains the highlight of the event.
