Kendrick Lamar’s latest album, GNX, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
The album earned 319,000 equivalent album units in its first week, with 285,000 from streaming (equaling 379.72 million streams), 32,000 from album sales, and 2,000 from track equivalent albums (TEA).
GNX had the year’s biggest streaming week for an R&B/hip-hop album and the second-largest debut streaming week among all albums.
It marks Kendrick Lamar’s fifth No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, following Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, DAMN., Untitled Unmastered, and To Pimp a Butterfly.
The album’s success comes ahead of Lamar’s upcoming performance at the Super Bowl halftime show on February 9, 2025, in New Orleans.
