Katy Perry appeared to joke about her ex Orlando Bloom during a concert in London on 13 October, amid ongoing speculation about a possible romance with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The 40-year-old singer reportedly made a playful quip to the audience, saying: “No wonder I fall for Englishmen all the time… but not anymore.” Fans believe she was referring to her ex-husband Russell Brand and Bloom, who is British.
The comments come after pictures emerged showing Perry and Trudeau, 53, seemingly getting close on a yacht in California on 29 September. Tourists on a whale-spotting charter reportedly spotted the pair embracing and even sharing a kiss on the upper deck of Perry’s 24-metre yacht, the Caravelle.
Fans have reacted with surprise online, with many expressing shock at the unexpected pairing. Social media posts have described the potential romance as “unexpected” and “surprising.”
Perry, who is currently on her Lifetimes World Tour, performed hits including Teenage Dream, Roar, and Firework, as well as songs from her latest album, 143. During the show, she also received a humorous marriage proposal from a fan, which she declined.
The two were first seen together in late July in Montreal, and Trudeau attended one of Perry’s Canadian shows the following day, fuelling further speculation about their relationship. Representatives for both Perry and Trudeau have not commented.
