Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau have confirmed their relationship on Instagram. On December 6, Perry, 41, shared photos and videos from a visit to Japan with Trudeau, 53, including selfies, dining moments, and an interactive art exhibit.
During the trip, Perry joined Trudeau for a meeting with former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife, Yuko. Kishida referred to Perry as Trudeau’s “partner” in an X post, which Trudeau later reposted, thanking Kishida for the meeting.
The couple first sparked romance rumors over the summer. Perry had separated from her ex-fiancé, Orlando Bloom, in June, and Trudeau ended his marriage to Sophie Grégoire in 2023. A source said Trudeau actively pursued Perry, including traveling to California to see her during her tour.
Perry and Trudeau made their first public appearance as a couple on October 25, attending the Crazy Horse cabaret in Paris for Perry’s birthday. Photos showed them holding hands and smiling as they left the theater.
Perry is currently on her Lifetimes Tour, and the Japan visit combined personal time with Trudeau and her tour schedule. The post marks the first time the couple has publicly shared their relationship on social media.
