Justin Timberlake has revealed that he has been diagnosed with Lyme disease. The announcement came on July 31, 2025, one day after he wrapped up his Forget Tomorrow World Tour.
In an Instagram post, the 44-year-old singer said the disease caused severe nerve pain, fatigue, and illness during the tour. Fans had noticed his low energy during recent shows in Romania and Ireland.
Lyme disease is a bacterial infection spread by tick bites. According to the CDC, about 476,000 people in the U.S. are diagnosed and treated for it each year. Common symptoms include fever, tiredness, headache, and a circular rash. If left untreated, it can cause long-term problems with joints, nerves, and the heart.
Despite his symptoms, Timberlake chose to keep performing. “I’m so glad I kept going,” he wrote, saying the joy of being on stage outweighed the pain. Over 15 months, he performed 121 shows worldwide.
He thanked his wife, Jessica Biel, their sons, Silas and Phineas, and his fans for their support. He said he hopes sharing his diagnosis will help others with Lyme disease feel less alone.
Timberlake has not confirmed future tour plans but says he is proud of what he accomplished.
