Fans of Jujutsu Kaisen have reason to be excited as new details about the upcoming third season were revealed at Anime Expo 2025.
Despite concerns that the recent Hidden Inventory / Premature Death film might delay production, voice actor Junya Enoki, who plays Yuji Itadori, confirmed that season 3 is actively in production and he is currently recording his lines.
Enoki shared that the animation studio MAPPA is working on the highly anticipated Culling Game arc, including the major battle between Choso, Yuji, and Yuta. While no official release date or footage was shown at the panel, Enoki expressed being impressed by the scale and quality of the animation.
The Culling Game arc follows the dramatic ending of season 2, which featured the sealing of Gojo Satoru and the intense Shibuya Incident.
This arc marks the first tournament-style storyline in the series, introducing powerful new characters and answering pressing questions about Yuji’s future without Gojo and Yuta’s role in the story.
Although Jujutsu Kaisen fans have waited since December 2023 for the new season, the confirmation that voice actors have seen animation footage suggests a 2026 release could be possible rather than 2027.
