Jensen Ackles Confirms Supernatural Co-Stars Will Join Final Season of The Boys

Fans of Supernatural have reason to celebrate as the long-running show’s stars may be reuniting on screen in the final season of Amazon Prime Video’s The Boys.

Jensen Ackles, who joined The Boys in Season 3 as the gritty antihero Soldier Boy, recently hinted at the return of his Supernatural co-stars Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins in the upcoming fifth and final season. Speaking to People, Ackles said the experience was surreal.

“It was weird. It was like inviting my friends over to somebody else’s house for dinner,” Ackles joked. “I was like, ‘Listen, guys, don’t make me look bad. I got to stay here.’ They were amazing.”

While the roles Padalecki and Collins will play are still under wraps, the reunion has generated major buzz among fans of both shows. The Boys is created by Eric Kripke, who also created Supernatural and worked with the trio for 15 seasons between 2005 and 2020.

Padalecki confirmed last year that he’s ready to join The Boys, saying, “The answer is yes.” He also added, “At this point in my acting life, I only want to work on projects that I really care about or with people that I really care about, and obviously Eric and I are indelibly connected forever.”

The show’s creator, Kripke, recently shared an emotional farewell message after wrapping production on the finale. He praised the team, writing, “It’s bittersweet, but my primary feeling is gratitude… We have the best cast, the best crew, the most fun story to write, and something that is impossible to predict: the right timing.”

The Boys has been a major success for Prime Video. Season 4 topped the Nielsen streaming charts for the first time, breaking records and building momentum ahead of its final season, set to premiere in 2026.

The show previously brought in Supernatural alum Jeffrey Dean Morgan in Season 4, who appeared as Joe Kessler in a hallucination by Billy Butcher.

With the return of Padalecki and Collins, The Boys seems poised to give fans a proper send-off that blends superhero satire with Supernatural nostalgia.
