Jennie, the K-pop sensation from BLACKPINK, made history with her groundbreaking solo debut at Coachella 2025, captivating a crowd of 250,000 fans at the iconic Empire Polo Club in California.
The festival, known for its impressive lineups and massive audience, provided the perfect backdrop for Jennie’s powerful performance, marking a pivotal moment in her career.
In a recent appearance on the South Korean chat show You Quiz on the Block on May 7, Jennie opened up about her Coachella debut, revealing that she had spent 16 months perfecting every detail of her performance. Despite the preparation, Jennie admitted to feeling uncertain before stepping on stage.
“Before the performance, I wondered, ‘Will people come to watch?’” she confessed. But when she looked out at the sea of festival-goers, her doubts vanished. “There was no end in sight,” she added, clearly overwhelmed by the energy and support from the crowd.
Her set included fan favorites like “Zen,” “Handlebars,” “Mantra,” and the anthemic “Like JENNIE,” all from her debut solo album Ruby. Despite the pressure, Jennie felt a deep emotional connection to the moment. “Even while I was on stage, I was surprised by the energy. It felt like I was being rewarded for all the determination that went into the preparation,” she said.
Jennie also shared that she rarely watches her performances but made an exception for her Coachella debut. “I normally don’t monitor myself much, but I did watch a bit of Coachella. Not because it was perfect but because I sincerely gave it my all,” she reflected.
Jennie’s Coachella performance marked a significant step in her solo career, showcasing her talent and stage presence beyond BLACKPINK. Fans and critics alike are eagerly awaiting more solo projects from the artist as she continues to shine in her own spotlight.
