Jason Momoa is set to bring Lobo, the foul-mouthed intergalactic bounty hunter, to life in DC Studios’ Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow.
However, this won’t be the first time Lobo has appeared in live-action. Fans may be surprised to learn that Lobo made his live-action debut in Krypton Season 2, the 2019 Superman prequel series.
In Krypton, Emmett J. Scanlan (known for his role in Peaky Blinders) portrayed Lobo, a character with the power to rival Superman.
Lobo’s appearance in the series was part of a storyline where he tracks down Seg-El and Adam Strange on the planet Colu, seeking revenge on Brainiac for destroying his homeworld, Czarnia.
This version of Lobo was an unhinged, indestructible maniac, demonstrating his resilience by rebuilding himself after being blown to pieces.
While Lobo’s portrayal in Krypton was limited to four episodes, it showcased the character’s dynamic presence and set a strong foundation for future live-action appearances.
With Momoa now taking on the role, fans are eager to see the classic version of Lobo, potentially featuring the iconic leather outfit, cigar, and space hog.
