The iPhone 17 is shaping up to be a promising upgrade, but some aspects of its design will remain unchanged.

According to recent reports, the iPhone 17 models will feature the same-sized Dynamic Island as current versions, contrary to previous rumors suggesting a smaller version.

Prominent analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has stated that the Dynamic Island will remain “largely unchanged” in the iPhone 17 lineup. This means that, despite earlier expectations, the device will look very similar to the current iPhone models. The camera module on the back will also stay the same.

While earlier reports hinted that Apple would reduce the size of the Dynamic Island using “metalens” technology, it seems that these changes will not come with the iPhone 17. Apple might introduce a smaller Dynamic Island in future models, but for now, the design will stay as it is.

Apple’s Dynamic Island was introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro models in 2022, offering a more functional and less intrusive alternative to the notch.

Although the iPhone 17 models won’t feature a smaller Dynamic Island, Apple still plans to launch the iPhone 17 Air, which could be thinner than the current models and compete with devices like the Galaxy S25 Edge.

Additionally, the iPhone 17 Air may debut with Apple’s custom 5G modem, which will likely improve over time, similar to the company’s M series chips.
