iPhone 17 Leak Hints at First Big Change to Dynamic Island

Apple is expected to update the Dynamic Island on all iPhone 17 models, according to a new leak from a popular Chinese social media account. The source, Digital Chat Station, has a track record of sharing accurate details about upcoming Apple products.

The leak did not reveal exactly what changes are coming. However, it mentioned a “redesigned user interface,” suggesting that iOS 26 could bring software updates to the Dynamic Island. These changes may be exclusive to the iPhone 17 series.

There are also rumors about hardware changes. Some early reports said the Pro Max model might have a smaller cutout for the Dynamic Island. Later reports suggest this might not happen until the iPhone 18. However, one source claimed that if the smaller cutout happens this year, it would apply to all iPhone 17 models.

The Dynamic Island was first introduced with the iPhone 14 Pro in 2022. This would be the first major change to the feature since then.

Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 17 lineup in early September. More details should be available in the coming months.
