A new leak has revealed key details about the upcoming iPhone 17 Air. According to the report, the phone will be extremely thin—just 5.5mm thick. It will also weigh only 145 grams, making it one of the lightest iPhones ever.

However, the leak also shows a surprising downside. The iPhone 17 Air may come with a 2,800 mAh battery, which is small by today’s standards. For comparison, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge—a phone of similar size—has a 3,900 mAh battery.

Some rumors suggest Apple could use high-density battery technology to improve performance by up to 20%.

There’s also speculation that Apple is working on a new AI-powered battery-saving feature to make up for the small battery size.

Others believe Apple may be planning to sell more battery cases, which would explain the lower battery capacity.

Nothing is confirmed yet, but if true, this iPhone could be the thinnest and lightest in recent years—but at the cost of battery life.
