Apple’s Vision Pro headset, priced at $3,499, has faced challenges in attracting users due to its steep cost.

However, a recent leak suggests that iPhone users may soon experience VisionOS-inspired features without the hefty price tag.

According to Jon Prosser, a renowned Apple leaker, the iOS 19 update will introduce a redesigned Camera app, borrowing elements from VisionOS.

While Prosser didn’t showcase direct footage, he shared animated renders of the expected changes, revealing a more simplified and immersive camera interface. Key updates include:

Translucent Menus: The menus will offer a cleaner viewfinder with less clutter, enhancing the overall user experience.

Two Main Options: The interface will focus on Camera and Video options at the bottom, streamlining the selection process.

Accessible Controls: Features like aspect ratio, depth, exposure, and timers will be more easily accessible when selecting a category.

Resolution Settings: Frame rate and resolution controls will be placed at the top for a neater design.

This marks the long-awaited redesign of the Camera app, which was expected in iOS 18 but never materialized.

The iOS 19 redesign could significantly transform how users interact with their devices, making the photography experience both easier and more immersive.

Is iOS 19 the Start of a Larger Redesign?

The camera app’s redesign raises the question of whether Apple plans a broader UI overhaul.

While Prosser showcased circular icons in renders, he acknowledged that this may be an exaggeration. Instead, Apple might gradually introduce VisionOS-inspired features into key apps like Music, Notes, and Wallet.

This incremental approach would allow Apple to refine its design language without overwhelming users, maintaining the familiar iOS experience while offering a fresh look.

Stay tuned for official confirmation from Apple, as iOS 19 could redefine mobile photography with its new features.

Takeaway: The iOS 19 update is set to introduce a VisionOS-inspired camera redesign, simplifying the interface and enhancing the user experience.

While this could be part of a larger design overhaul, Apple is likely to roll out changes gradually to avoid disrupting user familiarity.
